No one would purposely try to bring on the apocolypse, would they?

Do evangelical Christians hope for the apocolypse? Maybe we all have a romantic feeling about the end of the world. I’ve sort of gotten a thrill thinking about it in the past. But so many people would suffer - more than now. Let’s hold it off for a few more millenia, okay?

Why wait? The population is increasing and if it’s a numbers game you want to play, then we should just get it over with. Besides, don’t you want to be there when Jesus Christ returns as a warrior on a white horse and sets up the kingdom of God? Maybe it will be a white unicorn! That would be rad. But probably not…I think he comes back as some sort of badass, smiting and overthrowing the Antichrist with plagues and such. I don’t think a badass rides a unicorn.

Have you seen that new show Christ.Antichrist? I guess Christ has to get all painted up like the Antichrist and wear horns and a tail and carry around a pitchfork and see what it’s really like to walk around in the Antichrist’s shoes (which are made of burlap and kitten skulls, by the way). The premiere episode will also have the Antichrist discovering how hard it is to live up to impossible expectations and a tense moment occurs in a local bakery when he is caught buggering an aborted monkey with a baguette. He has to learn that Christ people just don’t do that sort of thing.
Both will grapple with their own imaginariness. Sundays on FOX!
