The Zen Experience

Here’s an interesting article that is apparently about a person’s first visit to a zen center. Zen is stark - it is direct, it’s practice is hard to describe. I’ll say this: Not abiding, Not coming, not going, this is Zen.

The Buddha referred to himself as Tathagata. Thathagata means ‘thus come’ and it means ‘thus gone’, depending on the way it is said. The Buddha reportedly said it in such a way as to not imply either more strongly. If you’ve gone from somewhere you have simultaneously arrived. Where is the Buddha?
