Test Tube Meat??

If we could grow meat in a lab instead of killing the poor things, would you be willing to eat that meat? What if one pig was killed and scientists were able to create enough meat to feed the world’s population?

A single cell could theoretically produce enough meat to feed the world’s population for a year

Maybe you would say that isn’t even worth one death. Now when it comes down to ethics the interesting thing is that to harvest grain, all kinds of insects, rodents and baby birds are killed by the threshers. In general even eating vegetables involves killing sentient beings. To live is to kill - with every inhale we are killing. So generally I think we have to look at what is less harmful - if we could find a way to synthesize animal tissue and avoid more killing, that would be wonderful.

Would you eat synthetic human meat?
Would you eat a synthetic clone of yourself? It looks exactly like you, but is simply meat.

I would eat synthetic human meat. I would eat a clone of myself, sure. I would eat you. I would eat your face off.

Then we could make genetic combinations of different meats… A Beeforken-burger, anyone?!

I checked with Marshall on what Beeforken would be a combination of:

    [17:15] Beesucker: what’s beeforken?
[17:15] Marshizzle, my nizzle: beef pork chicken
    [17:15] Marshizzle, my nizzle: beeforken
    [17:15] Beesucker: ah
