Dear Russel Ji,
I’m too lazy to read your blog!
But I’m picking up in other areas. Seems I can’t get a ubiquitos flow of energy going. Also spelling is a challenge.
About memory:
You already asked me about the alaya idea. Alaya Vijnyana is the ’store house’ memory. It is number 7 in a list of consciousness functions. It is the place where all memories reside as seeds - your entire karmic store. From this life to on and on before and before. Sometimes we can forget ourselves, and then we are Buddha, but the karmic winds scatter the seeds and up grows a thought. We can’t eliminate the memory, but we can get rid of the winds, such that another neurotic thought does not occur. To get the full idea read the Abhidharma sometime.
Cat got my tongue. My tooth is abscessed. I’m suspicious of this body - it might be a bacteria farm!
Take care,
Beesucker

Beesucker,
Sorry it has taken me a while to reply, but I am still adapting to this working caper.
In my post (http://christananda.blogspot.com/2006/09/tantra-supreme-understanding.html), I quoted Tilopa:-
“One should not give or take, but remain natural - for Mahamudra is beyond all acceptance and rejection. Since alaya (primordial space) [awareness] is not born, no one can obstruct or soil it; staying in the unborn realm, all appearance will dissolve into dharmata (true/real nature) [consciousness], and self will and pride will vanish into naught.”
The (brackets) are explanations from other sources and these [brackets] are my understanding. My further understanding is:-
Laya, in yogic terms, means dissolution and as such alaya, means that which can not be dissolved, or prior to phenomena. Philosophically, this could be seen as the ultimate ground or home (as in HimAlaya - home of snow). From this perspective, I have understood that dharmata is phenomena, or that which dissolves into Alaya.
However, from what you say above, maybe I have reversed the situation.
I will check the Abhidharma for clarity, as suggested.
And thanks for the comment on my luciuosness. No I don’t think I am one, but then again, I am not to sure what I am now - a - days.
